What is MyLA?

MyLA is a tool that offers residents one account to access Louisiana state websites and manage contact details.

Why do I need to create a MyLA account?

Individuals receiving services from DCFS such as SNAP or Child Support will need a MyLA account to sign in to CAFE. Teachers may require a MyLA account to sign in to EdLink Security.

Is MyLA free to use?

Yes. MyLA is a free service provided by the State of Louisiana.

Can non‑residents use MyLA?

Yes. Any individual who uses Lousiana state services is eligible to use MyLA.

What state services / agencies use MyLA accounts?

A MyLA account can be used to sign in to LaMEDS from LDH, CAFE from DCFS, and EdLink Security from LDOE. More agencies and apps are adding MyLA support over time.

Creating an Account

How do I sign up for MyLA?

Start by filling out your information on the Sign Up page. Once submitted, MyLA will send you an email with a verification link. Click the verification link and you're ready to sign in with MyLA.

How do I verify my email?

MyLA will send an email with a verification link after you sign up. Click the link in your email to verify your account.

What if I never receive the verification email after sign-up?

Check your email's Spam folder. If you need another email, resend the verification link by using Resend Email Verification under Help.

Signing In & Password Help

I just signed up for MyLA, but can't log in to my account. What do I do?

Make sure you verified your email. If you need another email, use the Resend Email Verification tool under Help. Select the verification link in the email to verify your account. MyLA will then let you sign in.

What if I forget my password?

Use the Forgot Password tool under Help. You’ll get an email with a temporary password and link to set a new password.

I tried using Forgot Password, but never recieved an email to reset my password. What do I do?

Make sure your entering the correct User ID that matches your email address. If you're unsure, use the Forgot User ID tool under Help.

I changed my password but now I can’t log in. What do I do?

Make sure you’re entering your new password and not your old one. If the error continues, visit the Help page where you can find tools for retrieving your User ID or help resetting your password.

What if my account gets locked?

If multiple failed sign-in attempts occur, MyLA may lock your account for security. You may wait 15 minutes before entering your correct password, or use Forgot Password under Help.

I've entered my User ID and password multiple times, but can't sign in to MyLA. What do I do?

MyLA accounts lock after multiple unsuccessful sign in attempts. Wait 15 minutes for your account to unlock or use the Forgot Password tool under Help. If this is your first time signing in to MyLA, use the Resend Email Verification tool under Help to verify your email.

Updating My Info

I no longer have access to the email I used. How do I recover my account?

Visit the Ask for Help page to contact support. The support team will be able to change your email and assist with recovering your account.

How do I change my email address or phone number?

Sign in and select Update My Info to update your email or phone number.

I am trying to change my email address but keep receiving an error. What do I do?

The new email address may be used on a different account. To verify, use the Forgot User ID tool under Help and enter the new email address. If you recieve an email with a User ID, that address is already in use.

I updated my email address but my account is still showing the old email. What do I do?

Your new email address needs to be verified. Check your email and Spam folder for an email with a verification link. If you need another email, Sign in, navigate to Update My Info, and update your email again.

How do I update my name?

Sign in and select Update My Info to update your name.

How do I update my PIN number?

Sign in and select Update My Info to update your PIN number.

Where can I view my current PIN number?

Your current PIN number is not available to view on MyLA. If you're unsure of your account's PIN number, please Sign in and select Update My Info to change your PIN number.

How do I update my User ID?

Updating a User ID is not currently possible. If you're unsure of your account's User ID, use the Forgot User ID tool under Help.

I entered the wrong SSN on my account. What do I do?

MyLA does not collect or store SSN information. Visit the Ask for Help page to contact support for the service you're using with MyLA.

Security & Privacy

How is my information kept secure?

MyLA uses industry-standard encryption and authentication protocols to protect your data. To enhance security, always keep your password strong and private.

What should I do if I suspect unauthorized access?

We recommend signing in to your account and changing your email address and password to prevent further unauthorized access. If you are unable to sign in, contact support via the Ask for Help page.

Device & Browser Support

Is MyLA mobile‑friendly?

Yes. MyLA is designed to work well on smartphones, tablets, and desktop devices.

Does MyLA need scripting / JavaScript enabled?

Yes. We recommend enabling scripting / Javascript when using MyLA. If disabled, some features or pages may not work or display correctly.
